2008 SX

Tragically on September 1, 2009 Dennis Ebbon Akins was killed ridding his Yamaha XT225 home from work at Anniston Army Depot.

Dennis was not only a track owner but a great Christian man and friend that poured blood sweat and tears into the Alabama Motocross community, he will be dearly missed.

Chris Akins, his son has vowed with the support of my self and many others to keep Dennis’s passion alive by maintaining Chriscross MX as he would.

Please help support the Akins family as well as the track by coming out and participating in upcoming events.

For the past month I've been working on an area slightly smaller than a football field which will soon become Misti Lake. Leaving the track at the end closest to the interstate, you will find it at the bottom of the hill, covering the entire valley. With a depth of 8' at the deep end and stepped up to 2' at the shallow end this lake will provide additional storage capacity for the irrigation system. But, it's primary purpose is to provide a stocked fishery for our guests when they aren't riding. It will be stocked in Feb 2009 with bass, bream, and catfish. It usually takes about 2 years to grow some decent fish in a new pond. This area should be far enough away from the track to not get muddy. I've put fish in the other 2 ponds and heard them scream "I'm Blind, I've gone Blind".

This week is a down week for the AMA Pro super sport and super bike circuit, how ever Josh's wife was racing at near by Barber motor sports park in Birmingham so Josh and Matt decided to get in a little R&R in the dirt and believe me when you got it, you got it no matter what your riding. These two provided non stop entertainment most of the day. Thanks guys glad you could drop by and hope to see you again.
